Orange Business, a leading global network and digital services integrator, has announced a partnership with Sat.One, a Perth-based satellite service company. The partnership will leverage Eutelsat’s OneWeb low-earth-orbit (LEO) technology, a dedicated service focused on enhancing connectivity services across Australia and New Zealand’s rural and remote areas. This falls under the multi-year deal signed by Sat.One last year to provide OneWeb low-earth-orbit satellite services in the region.

In parallel, Orange S.A. (Orange) and Eutelsat already have a global agreement signed in 2023. This partnership will extend it locally to deliver enhanced support of real-time data connection and communications to Orange Business’ customers across the mining, oil, gas, public sector and financial service industries throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Sat.One has committed to offer connectivity services with Eutelsat OneWeb specifically for the most remote Australian and New Zealand enterprises. The partnership with Orange Business is set to help achieve this, with Orange already servicing a range of customers with businesses in some of the country’s most geographically diverse locations, including remote mine site operators. By combining both expertise, enterprise customers will have access to the constellation of OneWeb satellites that support high-speed access to digital information, productivity tools, and cloud services.

Under the agreement, enterprise grade satellite internet connectivity will be offered in hard-to-reach areas that previously could not be served with an enhanced latency. The high-quality, low-latency end-user service experience will increase user satisfaction, and site communications and connectivity, safety, and efficiency. Other benefits of the partnership include increased resiliency, and geographical reach for enterprise solutions and backhauling in remote locations.

Orange Business multiplies initiatives designed to help Australian andNew Zealand businesses in hard-to-reach locations. Last year, Orange Business launched several initiatives to support the resource industry enhance its capabilities, including a partnership with MachineMax, an asset management platform, to track statistics for machinery fleets, including active and idle hours, fuel use, CO2 emissions, and location.

Andrew Borthwick, Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand at Orange Business said: “Given the vast and remote nature of Australia, many of our key industries operate in hard-to-reach locations that require reliable, seamless and secure connectivity. At Orange Business, we understand the critical role that these industries play in the country's economy, and we are committed to supporting them with innovative digital infrastructure.

“That's why we are thrilled to partner with Sat.One to deliver Eutelsat OneWeb LEO technology to businesses across Australia. By combining our expertise with Sat.One's, we can provide enterprise customers with high-speed access to digital information, productivity tools, and cloud services, even in the most remote locations. This partnership represents a significant step towards ensuring that critical industries such as mining, construction, and resources have the connectivity they need to thrive, and we are proud to be part of this initiative.” Borthwick, also cited that Orange Business’ presence in Australia and New Zealand marketplace for over 40 years has also established its credentials and a firm trust in customers as a key service provider for LEO satellite solutions across different mine sites throughout this region.

Daniel Fairbairn, CEO of Sat.One said: We are excited and proud to announce our partnership with Orange Business to bring transformative Enterprise Low-Earth-Orbit (LEO) connectivity to Australia and New Zealand. Orange Business is a trusted partner for digital transformation, offering a comprehensive portfolio of services to enterprises and this collaboration between Sat.One and Orange is pivotal for enterprises facing the challenges of connectivity.
